Tsunamis, Hurricanes, Meteors...Oh My!

The picture shots of the devastation left behind from hurricane Katrina are quite surreal. Mother nature has been quite nasty over this past year or so with the tsunami effecting Southeast Asia and now New Orleans.

Armageddon Online suggests this is just the tip of the iceberg of the possibilities that could eventually wipe out human civilizations as we know it. I'm one that is optimistic on the future of our society - I'm kind of a glass half-full type of person but nonetheless, it's quite intriguing how precious life is when you think of all the many dangers there are out in the world that could quite possible expunge mother earth.

Life after Oil?

With gas prices going through the roof and a seemingly alarming shortage of oil, will there one day be no more oil left? This website, suggests the end of oil and human reliance on this natural resources will come to an end.

In May 2004, Simmons explained that in order for demand to be appropriately controlled, the price of oil would have to reach $182 per barrel. Simmons explained that with oil prices at $182 per barrel, gas prices would likely rise to $7.00 per gallon.
